Even though 2015 has only just begun and it seems like the remnants of the last snowfall has just melted of the ground. There is no harm in starting to look forward to and preparing for the summer time. And with the English National Surfing Championships at Newquay starting soon in May, it seems like a good idea to consider what kind of sports gear to save up for this summer. Personally, I have fallen a little in love with this Basala wood, Malibu surfboard by Kun-tiqi.
Not only are these handcrafted, they are also eco-friendly. The manufacturing of one board takes up to 60 working hours, which makes every single board unique. And last but not least, they look incredibly cool. The first surfboards were made in Hawaii. They were carved out of wood and called “papa he’e nalu”, which translated means “something flat for sliding on waves”.
These Kun-tiqi boards are original and bring us back to the beginning of surfing. It doesn’t get any more retro than that.
The Malibu board is a classic, an oldie and a goldie, which never goes out of style and can be used by beginners as well as more practiced surfers. While we wait for the summer sunshine to welcome us, we have to find other ways to keep ourselves warm. And why not add a little dash of something tropical and summery to it?
