The eagerly awaited release of the Apple watch took place today.
Going by popular demand, it seems like everyone is extremely hyped up about the release of the Apple watch, but what makes it so special? Let’s take a closer look.
The watch of course features a speaker and a microphone that makes it possible to use Siri and make phone calls. The phrase “Talk to hand” will soon have a whole new meaning. Moreover, the watch has been stuffed with health features. For instance, it will use an in-built heat-rate-sensor in order to monitor the users’ pulse and heart rate, this in combination with the heath app, will make it possible to give you exact statistics of when and where you exercise.
The Apple watch is also going to feature a “Taptic Engine”. This function is able to tap the user on different places on the wrist. This can for instance be used to guide people when using Apple maps. The watch can hereby tap your wrist on the side it wants you to go, and guide you to your destination.
The watch is also be able to connect with your phone in order to share the data, making the two devices work effortlessly together.
The battery of this bad boy is 18 hours per charge, which means that it needs to be charged every day. Rumours have it that Apple is currently working on a wireless charger that will soon to be in production. This way, all you have to do is put your watch close to the charger every night, and it will charge automatically.
The watch is available in three different versions and in two different sizes (38mm and 42mm) and available in all kinds of colours. The prices vary from £299 to £13,500, and then there is also the special gold version, which has been spotted on Karl Lagerfeld. This is sure to cost you a pretty penny, yet the price of this beautiful item is unknown, as the watch has been a gift from Apple to the praised designer, it is estimated to be worth around £18,000.
Considering the prices and waiting lists for this item, I may just have to stick with my old-fashioned watch just a little longer, at least the battery lasts for about a year, but that also seems to be the only benefit, oh yeah, and it also tells the time.
